When you work from home, working around your family and trying to balance your time around your business and your family can be difficult. What if you could incorporate the time you spend working on your business with the time you spend with your children? You could get more accomplished and produce some fun memories with your family.. Below, I will show you a few creative ways to involve your kids in your business.
Marketing Online with Videos
Videos are a great way to brand yourself and market your business online. Video marketing can also be a fun way to incorporate your kids. You know kids like being on camera and often sit captivated watching themselves on the screen. Let them be cute and chitchat a little if they want. It makes you more sincere in the eyes of your viewers and can tug the heartstrings of your viewers, which, by the way, makes people more inclined to act. When people see you as a sincere person, they tend to believe you more and that is more important in a business relationship than the business or product itself. Making videos is a great way to promote your business and incorporate your children.
Use Their Abilities
This, of course, depends on what your company is and how old your children are, but do not be afraid to discover ways for them to help. Organizing, sorting, printing, and packing are all tasks older kids can do. Letting a little one carry or fetch things for you can make him or her feel like a big help. With a small amount of creativity, you can complement every day tasks with your children's abilities, and eventually, will find yourself getting more completed while you spend valuable time with your children.
Cart Them Along
If you prospect and meet with customers in person, you may have the opportunity to bring your kids with you. Be warned, if you decide to take you children out...come equipped! Bring snacks, toys, or other things that can entertain your tots while you network. I like to bring an assortment of crackers and water, so my toddler doesn't get the hungry grumps. I also bring a number of books along with pens and pencils and a notebook. I also keep a usual no-no, or something to let her play with that she normally doesn't get to touch, for desperate situations. When you prepare ahead of time, your time out with your kids can be enjoyable and your customers will enjoy seeing the little ones you're working so hard to support.
The most important thing is that, with some creativity, you can spend quality time with your children all while teaching them valuable skills. And to top it off, you get a little more work completed when you might have spent it watching television or doing something else.
